ISLET project

ISLET keeps moving forward

The ISLET project has progressed at a quick pace over the last few months. Two important milestones have taken place over this time period, the Systems Requirements Review (SRR) and the Preliminary Design Review (PDR), with both receiving positive feedback.

During the SRR, which took place online on the 11th of September, the main topics discussed were related to the User Needs and User Requirements that had been established for the ISLET solution. Some fruitful discussions were held between EUSPA and the consortium regarding the proposed concepts, related to the design and scope of the development.

The PDR was held at GMV headquarters in Madrid, on the 12th of November. In the time that led to the PDR, major advances were made in the high-level design of the solution, for functionalities, as well as related to hardware and software components. In addition to that, a preliminary verification and validation (V&V) plan was developed.

All the documents presented during both the SRR and PDR were promptly reviewed. The next project milestone will be the Critical Design Review (CDR) which will be held at the start of March next year. During the coming months, the ISLET consortium will advance on the detailed design and early development of the receivers, as well as in the consolidation of the V&V plan and the definition of test procedures. The work is performed in the frame of the ISLET (galIleo haS enabled maritime receiver) project, funded by the European Union and contracted by EUSPA1 (EU Agency for the Space Programme) as part of its Fundamental Elements Grants program
