ISLET project

Welcome to ISLET

The ISLET project is here! With the introduction of the Galileo High Accuracy Service (HAS) in Maritime and Inland Waterways (IWW) environments as its main goal. The project is co-funded by EUSPA, it kicked off back in June 2025 and will have a duration of two years, and it will be focused on developing a receiver enabled with Galileo HAS with both SPP and PPP algorithms.

In charge of this project will be a consortium of companies based in four European countries: GMV (both Spain and Romania), FLIR TransponderTech (Sweden) and TRESCO (Belgium), combining many years of expertise in areas relevant to the goals of ISLET. The final solution will include  multi-frequency and multi-constellation capabilities and other Galileo technologies such as OSNMA. Together with Galileo HAS, the solution will provide an alternative without many of the challenges that other solutions like RTK, EGNOS or radio beacons DGPS face in terms of coverage or the need of additional resources. The ISLET solution will be cost-effective and close-to-market, making it an attractive addition to navigation systems on board Maritime and IWW vessels.

To receive regular updates about the status of the project, and additional information about the implemented technology or the members of the consortium, you can follow our social media accounts: LinkedIn and X.

The work is performed in the frame of the ISLET (galIleo haS enabled maritime receiver) project, funded by the European Union and contracted by EUSPA1 (EU Agency for the Space Programme) as part of its Fundamental Elements Grants program
